Following the publication of the Clive Sheldon Report that was issued recently regarding non-recent child abuse in football, Omonia Youth FC are committed to ensuring nothing like this happens again.

Mark Bullingham, Chief Executive of The FA, has spoken about the issue and I urge you all to read his letter if you haven’t already done so. This is the link to the letter: Letter

Mental Health during lockdown

As we are drawing closer to the return of football we have had a few queries from clubs regarding concerns for the mental health of children and the impact Covid-19 is having on them. Additionally, all people that are working with young people, including all of our coaches and assistants, have been told about the new law of ‘Position of Trust’ (see below)

‘Position of Trust’ – new law

The ‘Positions of Trust’ law, which was only applied to roles like teachers and social workers, has now been extended to now include sports coaches and faith-leaders. Article
