‘Coaching the Coaches’ CPD Session

On Friday 20 December, the club’s Coach Development Officer David Poncia along with club Chairman Michael Pieri put on a ‘Coaching the Coaches’ CPD session for many of the club’s coaches from the Under 12 and below age groups. The session included introducing coaches to two different types of warm up activities and three different but linked football games that can be used during training sessions.

After the practical element, the coaches went inside where David gave an excellent presentation about coaching fundamentals and how to put together a session that will educate, develop and enthuse young footballers. The session was very well received by all and there was plenty of opportunity for healthy debate and discussion.

The club will put on more of these sessions which parents invited to future events.
