Weekly Round-Up: Cup Glory, Inclusive Football and New Opportunities for Girls (18/05)
May 18, 2026

The final match weekend of the season brought more memorable moments for Omonia Youth FC, with silverware, celebrations, and another fantastic example of the club’s community spirit both on and off the pitch.
Our U14 Silvers ended the campaign in perfect fashion by lifting the Spring Cup, adding cup success to what has already been a brilliant season that also saw them secure promotion following a second-place league finish.
Away from competitive fixtures, the club also proudly hosted a Pan-Disability Tournament, bringing players, families, and teams together for a day that perfectly reflected the inclusive values at the heart of Omonia Youth FC.
Looking ahead to next season, we are also excited to continue growing our girls’ section. Our latest recruitment drive invites girls aged 9–13 (Years 5–9 from September) to come and join the Omonia family, with opportunities to make new friends, stay active, and enjoy football in a fun and supportive environment. Interested families can register their interest via queries@omoniayouthfc.com ahead of the upcoming session taking place at the Radiomarathon Centre in Enfield.

U14 Silver: Spring Cup Champions After Dramatic Final Victory
Spring Cup Final | Win 2–1 | vs HGS

Omonia Youth FC U14 Silver
Spring Cup Champions.
Following an excellent league campaign that secured both promotion and a second-place finish, the U14 Silvers completed their season in style with a deserved cup final victory.
Omonia started confidently, dominating possession and playing positive football while creating a number of promising openings. The breakthrough eventually arrived after an increase in tempo, as Alan fired brilliantly into the bottom corner following clever link-up play.
Just before half-time, more intricate attacking football produced a second goal, with ML and Nic combining superbly to set up Albion for a composed finish.
At the break, the focus remained on discipline and continuing to trust their football.
The second half brought tension after a defensive mistake allowed HGS back into the game, creating a nervy spell as Omonia began to sit deeper. However, the team remained resilient, winning important battles and gradually regaining control through smart changes and renewed composure.
Despite several missed counter-attacking opportunities, the boys held firm to see out the victory. Alan even appeared to add a spectacular third from distance in the closing seconds, only for the final whistle to blow as the ball hit the net—sparking scenes of pandemonium and wild celebrations from players, parents, and supporters alike.
A thoroughly deserved triumph and a fitting reward for a brilliant cup run and outstanding season overall.
Pan-Disability Tournament: Unity, Passion and Football for All

Omonia Youth FC Pan-Disability Tournament
Omonia Youth FC proudly hosted a fantastic Pan-Disability Tournament this week, bringing together players, coaches, and families for an unforgettable day full of positivity, enjoyment, and togetherness.
The U20s were competing in their first-ever tournament as a team, coached by Harry Kyprianou. The boys performed brilliantly, winning three matches before narrowly losing the final game 1–0 to miss out on the cup. Leo, Matthew, Martin, Ridwan, and JJ all represented the club superbly and should be incredibly proud of their efforts.
The U16s also produced a spirited display throughout the day, showing determination and resilience in every match. Despite narrowly losing three games and winning one, the players never stopped fighting and continued to play with smiles on their faces. A special mention goes to Iby for scoring his first competitive goal, while Joseph, Jaydon, Zennon, and Barbod all demonstrated fantastic attitude and commitment throughout.
The U12s embraced the day brilliantly under the guidance of Coach Rico. Although their opposition failed to attend, the players made the most of the occasion with an enjoyable and energetic coaching session that allowed them to showcase their skills and enthusiasm.
Above all, the day served as another reminder of what Omonia Youth FC stands for. The atmosphere across the tournament reflected unity, passion, inclusivity, and the belief that football truly is for everyone.
As another season draws to a close, the club can look back with enormous pride on the progress, achievements, and memories created across all sections. From cup-winning celebrations to community events and exciting opportunities for new players to join the journey, the future continues to look incredibly bright for Omonia Youth FC.
