Weekly Round-Up: Cup Momentum, Character and Community (15/02)

February 16, 2026

Another weekend that reflected the many sides of Omonia Youth FC — strong performances on the pitch, pride in our continued cup journey, and meaningful work beyond football through our Antigua kit donation initiative. With preparations also well underway for our upcoming Summer Tournament, it’s been a week that perfectly captures the spirit of the club.

U10 White – Trusting the Omonia Way
vs Sporting Kids Blue | Coaches: Mike & Cos

Omonia Youth FC U10 White

Following a difficult outing last week, the emphasis in training was clear: receive and pass. The coaching team challenged the players to trust one another, keep their heads up and move the ball with confidence. The response was outstanding. The boys embraced the philosophy, playing with composure and intent, and showing real understanding of how simple, effective passing opens the game up. It was arguably their performance of the season so far — a joy to watch as they passed, moved and expressed themselves the Omonia way.

U11 Girls White – We Were the Storm
vs Winchmore Hill U12 Girls | PotM: Florence

Omonia Youth FC U11 Girls White

On a weekend of wind and rain, the girls produced a performance full of heart and defiance. With no substitutes and facing older opposition, they demonstrated resilience, unity and belief from the first whistle. The defence was resolute, earning a well-deserved clean sheet, while Khloe and Ellie Mitchell provided the magic in front of goal. Florence led superbly from the back, combining strong tackling with intelligent distribution to earn Player of the Match. A fearless display that showed just how far this group has come.

U15 White – Ten-Goal Statement in the Cup
vs AC Southgate South | Cup Fixture

Omonia Youth FC U15 White

Omonia’s impressive cup run gathered serious momentum with a commanding 10–0 victory. From the outset, the Whites played with intensity and cohesion, producing one of their most complete performances of the season. George was clinical once again, claiming a first-half hat-trick, while Abel and Adam both added braces to underline the attacking dominance.Defensively, Denys, River, Ryan and Chris were composed and organised throughout, providing the platform for midfielders Alexa P and Edmond to control proceedings. Even after an injury reshuffle, the team adapted seamlessly, maintaining control and discipline. Highlights included a superb long-range strike from Atilla and a well-taken volley from River following a James corner. A result that not only reflects quality but clear progression — this group continues to grow in confidence and cohesion at exactly the right time.

Proud Moments – Kits Donated to Antigua

Beyond the results, the club continues to make an impact off the pitch. Thanks to the generosity of our families, a fresh collection of pre-loved Omonia kits, sportswear and boots has been donated to a charity in Antigua.

The initiative, originally started by former Vice Chair Chris Mousicos, saw Club Chair Sophia Karanicholas and Head of Trustees Demi Shiamishis join Chris at the Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda to officially hand over the latest shipment. The Embassy kindly arranged transportation, ensuring the kits will soon benefit young players overseas. A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed — your support truly extends the Omonia family beyond North London.

Summer Tournament – Limited Spaces Remaining

Preparations continue for our prestigious Summer Tournament, one of the very few mixed competitions in and around London. With age groups from U7 to U15 and boys’ and girls’ categories running across the weekend, places are filling quickly.

A limited number of spaces remain, and teams are encouraged to secure their spot early to avoid missing out on what promises to be another exceptional event.

From dominant cup displays to storm-defying performances, from community generosity to tournament anticipation, it has been another week that showcases the ambition, unity and pride that define Omonia Youth FC — on the pitch and far beyond it.
