U12 Silver and Green– Derby Day Togetherness
Coaches (Green): Neil, Alvin & Parm | Coaches (Silver): Pete & Angelo
Beautiful sunshine greeted both teams at JCOSS for the first derby of the season between the U12s. The fixture lived up to expectations with both teams fighting for every ball and not wanting to give an inch. Some of the passing football on display was of an excellent standard, and although no goals were scored this was far from being a dull affair, helped by some good refereeing from former Omonia Coach Savva who let the game flow.
Despite the battle on the pitch, the respect shown by both sets of players at the end of the game was great to see, warm embraces and handshakes all around.
U13 Silver – New Kit, New Cup Victory
Win: 5-0 | Coach: George
Great win for the boys in their new kit today as they secured a fantastic victory in the Middlesex Cup!
U16 White– Unbeaten at the Top
Score: 1-1 | PoTM: Alex P | Coaches: George & Mark
Goal Scorer: Alex X
Omonia held their first league match of the season. Both teams came close to opening the scoring but the deadlock was broken with an excellent passing move from the right with Adam, feeding Dean who slid a ball across to Alex X to hit it first-time into the top left corner. It was an excellent technique and he has now scored in 3 back-to-back games.
In the second half, both teams made chances. Omonia had many attempts to seal the match with many shots on target. All square at the end.
U11 Platinum– A Team Performance to Be Proud Of
Coaches: Simian & Dee- in partnership with the Transition Football Academy (TFA)
What a game! A thrilling game with both sides attacking from start to finish.
A real team performance, with the hard work from training clearly showing on the pitch. The boys fought for every ball and battled until the final whistle, narrowly missing out on the win.
Dan was outstanding with a goal and assist, while Kaenan also added a goal and assist. Finn nearly produced a moment of magic with a strike from halfway that almost flew in! So many positives to take from this one. Proud of the boys’ fight, togetherness and progress.
U12 Girls – Fearless form Start to Finish
Win: 2-1 | Coaches: Theo & Katie
Before kick-off, we asked for passion, energy and belief, and the girls delivered from the first whistle. Against the run of play, Sienna’s corner found Xoe, who calmly finished at the near post to make it 1-0. Bloomsbury responded with wave after wave of attacks, but Isabella was phenomenal, making 15–20 outstanding saves. Shanjay and the defence stood strong, while the midfield battled for every ball.
Late on, Senabel won a free kick and stepped up to fire it into the corner for 2-0. A true underdog story and an incredible team performance full of fight, belief and togetherness. They walked onto the pitch as underdogs and walked off as giant slayers. Well done girls!
U11 Silver – Hat-Trick Heroics & Teamwork
PoTM: Kallistos | Coach: James
On a lovely Sunday afternoon, the boys warmed up well and were ready from the first whistle. Joseph gave us the perfect start by scoring in the first minute. Kallistos followed with a fantastic hat-trick, including a beautiful volley. The boys played confidently in the first half, showing excellent passing, movement and teamwork.
In the second half, the boys battled until the final whistle. The first-half passing and teamwork were major positives. We now need to keep improving our fitness, discipline and shape under pressure. Well done, boys!
