Our journey from grassroots beginnings to today
Formed to provide football for children from all backgrounds between the ages of 6 to 18. Founder members Mario Christodoulides, Flora Soteriou, Jimmy Nikeforou.
Club win their first Middlesex Cup. The first star appears on the shirt!

The club are awarded the FA Charter Standard Award, making sure it is regulated under Football Association Rules. We are proud to have continued to be accredited with this standard every year since.

The club establishes a very important partnership with the Radiomarathon Centre in Enfield, a charity that helps young people with physical and learning difficulties.
Omonia Youth (UK) Limited, which the football club now operates under. This is supported by a Trustees committee overseeing the Club, its objectives, and together with the Management Committee its future strategies.
Our U13s beat AFC Wembley Youth 2-1 in the Middlesex County Cup. That’s the second Star!
Our U18s beat British Airways (Youth) FC to win the Middlesex Cup. 2-2aet. OYFC win on penalties. The club’s third star is secured.
Our U15s beat Wingate & Finchley Youth 2-0 to win the Middlesex Cup. A fourth star adorns the club’s crest.

Our U14s beat Parkfield Youth 2-1 to give the club its fifth star in the year of our 20th Anniversary..

Season 2017/18 saw the club sign up with US Sportswear giant Nike to become a Nike Partner Club, an agreement which has benefited the club and our young footballers.
The club are nominated for a Middlesex FA Community Award.

The ‘Kick-it-Out’ logo is now on every OYFC home shirt showing the club’s committment to inclusion and anti-discrimination.

The club are recipients of Middlesex FA’s ‘Respect – We Only Do Positive’ award.

The club establishes a pathway for our young players to continue their football beyond youth level with our first Men’s Team which plays in the community KOPA League
The club are nominated for Middlesex FA’s ‘Grassroots Project of the Year’ award for their disability training sessions

OYFC are now an England Football Accredited Club. The club is recognised by the FA for creating more chances, for more people, to play and enjoy football. As a club OYFC have built a strong, sustainable, successful model that “…supports the community through football…”

OYFC are the 2021 Middlesex FA ‘Grassroots Club of the Year’.

At the annual FA & McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards, held at Wembley Stadium, OYFC are named 2021 Grassroots Club of the Year

Members of the club were invited to meet England manager Gareth Southgate to talk about the FA’s Club of the Year award.

This season there are six girls-only squads at the club.

Omonia Youth FC are used as a positive example in grassroots football in Gary Lineker and Ivor Baddiel’s new book entitled “50 Times Football Changed the World”,

On 29/11/2022, the club were invited to watch the England – Wales World Cup match with the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street!

In September 2023, a 2nd men’s team – Omonia Youth FC Men II – is formed playing in the Barnet Sunday League

In April, Omonia Youth FC were awarded the ‘Chris Mikkelides Award 2024’ for our outstanding contribution to our community. The awarded was granted by the Metropolitan Police Service Greek and Cypriot Association. Chris Mikkelides was a talented inspector in the police force for 30+ years. He was a strong advocate and active contributor to local community work. He was honoured by having the award named after him. Co-Chair Sophia Karanicholas and Head of Trustees Demi Shiamishis were present to collect the award.

In their first season, Omonia Youth FC Men’s II team triumphed in the coveted Middlesex County Cup – earning a first Gold Star for the Omonia Men teams logo, and a 6th for Omonia Youth FC as a club.

Omonia Youth FC’s illustrious 2023-2024 season, saw their trophy cabinet adorned with plenty new precious metals, and was capped off by a momentous occasion – 2 teams successfully achieved a treble win! Omonia Youth FC Men’s II team successfully achieved the club’s first ever Treble – finishing 1st in their BSFL division, winning the BSFL League Cup, and the much desired Middlesex County Cup. Omonia Youth FC U13 White team matched the men’s team – topping the WFL Green Division, as well as being victorious in the Junior League Cup & winning the Spring Plate.

In July, OYFC were delighted to announce that our very own Mary Tryphona was awarded the Middlesex FA Coach of the Year 2024 for the Disability Pathway! Mary has supported our club in growing the Pan-Disability football at Omonia Youth FC.

Under the tutelage of our beloved coach Mary Tryphona (now Equality, Diversity & Inclusivity Officer), OYFC have expanded their pan-disability setup to include 3 teams!

Omonia Youth FC launches new logo to commemorate a landmark anniversary – 30 years of service!

Omonia Youth FC teams up with local traditional family-run estate agent Stef & Philips, providing new full home football kits for the entire club for the next two seasons – that’s over 60 teams!

Omonia Youth FC agree deal with Cypressa, providers of authentically sourced foods in North London, to sponsor our kids’ hoodies.

This year marked a proud milestone for Omonia Youth FC as we continued to champion inclusivity in grassroots football. Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Officer, Mary Tryphona, was featured by The FA in recognition of her outstanding work fostering a culture of belonging.
