Match Reports
U14 Green – Another comeback, Another Win
Win: 3-2 | PoTM: The Team | Coaches: Sadat & Paul
Goal Scorers: Yiannis, Sulaiman & Aliihsan
That is now 3 wins in 3 games! U14 Greens kept plugging away, defended well, and Lucas made a magnificent save to keep it at 0-1 at the break. They came out with renewed belief. Sean found Yiannis, who beat his man, cut inside, and finished at the near post. Yiannis won the ball and squared for Sulaiman, whose fantastic lofted shot beat the keeper. Aliihsan latched onto Sulaiman’s through ball and slotted home.
They continued to dominate, with Franek, James, Lucas, Adam, Tommy, and Jason all making big contributions. Great togetherness and belief were shown by the team today, who always knew that they could get back into the game.
U10 White – Derby Day Delight
Coaches: Zach, Chris J & Chris C
First inter-club derby of the season made for a lively & competitive game. The boys played well, with great team spirit and high energy. So many shots on goal, although not all successful, showed the potential of what could be a great season for them. Bazil with our first and Robert with a hat-trick sealed the win, but again, very much a team performance
U10 Silver– Never Stopped Fighting
Coach: Richard
In a tight first half, the Silvers showed great character and were rewarded when Kimon and Daniel’s hard running resulted in an own goal at half time. The Whites went on to score, but the Silvers never gave up and stuck to their task. Excellent goals from Kimon and Oliver.
The way the Silvers have kept their heads up in all three games has been great to see, and that first win will hopefully come soon. Huge thanks to the Whites coaches, led by Zac, for all their support, and to coach Chris for refereeing an excellent game.
U16 Gold- Deserved Victory
Win: 2-1 | PoTM: Minul | Coaches: George, Roberto & Simon
Goal Scorers: Dino
The team that turned up were ready to fight for it, and they started the game with real good dominance of the ball. The boys kept going and were rewarded with a penalty 10 minutes later, which Dino put away. The second half was much of the same, with them continuing to dominate possession. With just two minutes to go, from a good throw, Dino lost his man and slotted the ball into the bottom left-hand corner to seal a deserved winner.
U12 Gold- Cup Progress Secured
Win: 5-3 | Coaches: Joe, Andy & Chris
Goal Scorers: George & Phillip
A brilliant 5-3 win sends Omonia U12 Gold into the next round of the Middlesex FA Cup! The Golds were in control from the first whistle, playing quick, free-flowing football and creating chances throughout. George led the way with a clinical four-goal performance, while Phillip also got on the scoresheet in an impressive attacking display.
It was another confident team performance, with the Golds showing quality all over the pitch. With 14 goals in their first three games, they’re building great momentum heading into the next round.
U16 White- Stronger Together
Score: 2-2 (3-4 penalties) | PoTM: Denys | Coaches: George & Mark
Goal Scorers: Denys & Alex X
Omonia faced a tough test against a top division side and last season’s League Cup winners, with Luke, Alex R and goalkeeper Fergus all making their debuts. The team battled brilliantly throughout, matching their opponents in midfield and defending superbly. After going behind, Omonia responded with great belief as Denys scored his first goal in an Omonia shirt before Alex X’s superb half-volley, from a well-worked corner, sent the tie to penalties.
Although the shootout ended in a 4-3 defeat, every player showed courage, and the team remained undefeated in open play. A performance full of effort, belief and togetherness, with the debutants making an excellent start to the season.
U12 White- A Performance Full of Belief
Coaches: Michael, Said & Anastasia
In the second half, they battled brilliantly against a very strong team. After going a goal down, the boys showed great character and stuck to the task. Leo’s excellent free kick led to Ayaan firing home the equaliser, before Leo scored a stunning free kick to put us 2–1 ahead. A late defensive lapse meant the game finished 2–2, but it was a fantastic team performance throughout.
U11 Silver– Silvers Show Their Fight
PoTM: Leo | Coaches: James
The Silvers started the game brightly, moving the ball around well and creating a couple of good opportunities early on. In the second half, the boys showed great character and fought their way back into the game, with Leo scoring a fantastic goal.
The boys kept pushing, and Leo struck again for his second goal of the game, completing a brilliant brace and bringing the Silvers right back into the contest. There were plenty of positives to take, particularly the football they played early on and the fight and determination the boys showed in the second half. Another important learning experience for the Silvers.
U8 White– Never Stopped Believing
PoTM: Leandros | Coaches: Ant & George
After a third consecutive away game to start the season, the team showed great spirit and resilience throughout. Despite conceding a few unfortunate goals in the first half, they kept battling with strength, passion and determination. Their hard work was rewarded when Emilio popped up with a last-minute equaliser to finish the game on a real high.
A huge well done to Leandros, our Player of the Match, for his fantastic work rate and determination. The coaches were incredibly proud of the attitude and resilience shown by every player, and thank you to all the parents for their brilliant support.
U12 Green- Cup Progress Secured
Win: 1-0 | PoTM: Arlind | Coaches: Neil & Alvin
The boys started fast, pressing high and giving the opposition no time on the ball. Winning possession back quickly, Arlind finished brilliantly to give the Greens an early lead. The Greens played some lovely passing football and created plenty of chances throughout the game.
In the second half, they completely dominated, with Jo in goal not having a shot to save. Despite hitting the crossbar, good goalkeeping and an offside flag denying more goals, the boys secured a well-deserved 1-0 win and a place in the next round of the cup.
U9 Silver– Together Until the Final Whistle
PoTM: Freddie | Coach: Conor
A much tougher week, but one that showed the boys will never give up and will battle until the final whistle. After conceding a few goals in the first half, they kept their heads high and came out with real guts and determination in the second half.
A strong finish was rewarded with a goal before the final whistle. The boys are growing every week, showing fantastic togetherness, and it’s great to see them enjoying their football.
U10 Green– Dominant from Start to Finish
PoTM: Leonidas | Coaches: Andy, Paul & Chris
Omonia dominated from start to finish, playing some lovely football and creating plenty of chances. There was lots of positive attacking play, with the boys showing great quality on the ball throughout.
Chris and Christian were assured in defence, while James made some excellent saves when called upon. Leonidas led by example with outstanding energy and determination, finishing off a brilliant solo dribble to earn Player of the Match.
