Under 8 and Under 9 Omonia Youth news

Sunday saw the Omonia Youth Under 9 Green and White teams meet in the Under 9 ‘Derby’ and it was an outstanding occasion with both sets of players, coaches and parents enjoying the match.

It is always an exciting game when the current Under 9 Green meet White and Sunday’s game did not disappoint. The great pitch and mild weather conditions allowed the boys to show off the superb skills they have been developing all season.

It was a high tempo game from the beginning with both teams showing great determination and total commitment. They demonstrated tremendous teamwork, great skill on the ball and looking for the pass.

The supporters were in full voice as the boys treated them to many goals, with some flawless finishes. Coaches Zeno, Mike and all supporters are very proud of the boys for showing great sportsmanship both during the game and after the final whistle. Well done boys.

As with the Under 9s, the Under 8 category also play non-competitive football where the emphasis is on development. On Sunday Kyri Eleftheriou and Myri Demetriou wre especially proud of their team for the effort, determination and skill they showed in their match, proving that what they practice in training can be used in matches.
