Omonia Youth FC Weekly Round-Up: Festive Fun and Strong Team Performances (30/11)
December 1, 2025

Omonia Youth FC enjoyed another memorable weekend—one defined not only by football, but by friendship, unity, and the sense of community that continues to grow through every team and every age group. This week’s headline moment came off the pitch, as our U8 Silver team enjoyed a brilliant Christmas night out together, a reminder that the relationships forged within this club go far beyond match-days.
From bowling to shared meals, the U8s showed exactly what grassroots football is all about: supporting one another, celebrating together, and forming friendships that make the Omonia family what it is. With more festive gatherings planned across the club, this spirit of togetherness remains at the heart of everything we do.
U11 Silver – Strong Team Ethic Shines Through
WFL | Away vs Southgate U11 Knights | PotM: Max, Jake | Coaches: Pete L., Angelo L.

An early kick-off against tough opposition meant the Silvers needed to be switched on from the start—and they delivered. Quick passing, sharp movement, and disciplined positioning saw Omonia take control early, showing confidence and maturity. The defensive unit remained resilient throughout, supported by a midfield that worked tirelessly off the ball.
The second half continued in the same vein, with fast, slick football proving too much for the Knights. Even when the opposition pushed forward, Omonia responded with aggression, composure, and a ruthless edge in attack. A superb all-round performance from a team that continues to grow week by week.
U10 Greens – Commanding Display in Cold Conditions
WFL | Home vs Frontline Football U10 Gold

Omonia Youth FC U10 Green
On a crisp morning, the Greens produced one of their most complete displays of the season. Their passing rhythm was sharp from the outset, supported by intelligent pressing and clever movement off the ball. The midfield dictated the tempo, repeatedly breaking up play and transitioning quickly into attack, while the defence handled every threat with calm assurance.
Omonia created chance after chance thanks to fluid teamwork and disciplined structure. Frontline Football Golds remained competitive, but the Greens’ organisation and relentless energy ultimately defined the match. A confident, cohesive showing that highlights the team’s ongoing development.
U9 Green – A Determined and Positive Response

After a challenging run, the boys responded superbly with a focused and spirited display. From the first whistle, they pressed aggressively, won duels, and showed real purpose in possession. The midfield combination of Greg, Christopher, and Chris linked play brilliantly, giving Omonia control and creating strong attacking opportunities.
As pressure increased in the second half, the team remained organised, with Leonidas producing key saves to maintain stability. Chris’ tireless work rate and consistent involvement earned him Player of the Match in what was a strong collective performance and a positive step forward.
U13 Gold – Effort and Attitude Despite the Scoreline
Away vs AC Finchley | Score: 1–8 | Goal: Christian
A bright start saw Omonia create early chances and stay competitive through the first half thanks to strong saves from Teddy and good link-up play from the forwards. Despite falling behind before half-time, the boys kept their intensity high and stayed committed across the pitch.
Christian’s well-taken finish early in the second half provided a deserved boost, and even as Finchley extended their lead, Omonia continued to work hard and show resilience. David made several impressive stops, and Christian pressed intelligently throughout. A difficult result, but a performance full of spirit—and even the local goats seemed invested in the action from the sidelines.
U13 Green – Statement Performance and Clean Sheet
Away vs Maccabi U13 Green | Score: 0–3 | Goals: Jason x2, Omer | Assists: Ben, Idris | PotM: Sean

A superb team performance marked a return to winning ways. The defensive unit was outstanding, with Sean and Cihan commanding at centre back and full-backs Ben and Nico combining defensive solidity with attacking support. Lucas’ composure in goal helped secure an excellent clean sheet.
Jason and Omer put Omonia ahead before the break, capitalising on intelligent movement and quick transitions. The second half was played almost entirely in the opposition half, culminating in Jason’s second goal following neat build-up from Idris.
Sean’s commanding defensive display earned him Player of the Match, but the entire squad contributed to a polished, disciplined, and impressive team effort.
U15 White – Grit, Quality, and a Deserved Victory
Home vs Hendon SPZ | WFL | 3–1 | PotM: James | Goals: Yahya, Abel, James | Assists: Chris, Zak, Abel | Coaches: George A., Mark H.

Omonia Youth FC U15 White
With only 11 players available, Omonia produced a courageous and disciplined display. Hendon threatened early, but Aref’s excellent goalkeeping and reorganised defensive structure steadied the team.
The breakthrough came via excellent wing play from Chris, allowing Yahya to score his third of the season. Zak’s midfield battle paved the way for Abel’s superb long-range effort, making it 2–0.
In the second half, Omonia continued to create chances, eventually adding a third through James’ surging run from defence. Hendon pulled one back, but further saves from Aref secured a deserved victory. A strong back-four performance and excellent work rate defined the win—James earning PotM with a standout display.
U12 White – Late Winner in High-Intensity Battle
Home vs AFC Finchley U12 North | WFL Red Division | 2–1 | PotM: Ollie | Goals: Ollie, LJ

Omonia Youth FC U12 White
Facing a long-time rival on a tight pitch, Omonia produced a gritty and determined performance. After dominating the first half, a moment of brilliance from Ollie opened the scoring—beating several players before delicately lifting the ball over the goalkeeper.
Finchley came out strong after halftime, pressuring with long throws and corners, eventually equalising through a scrappy finish.
Omonia responded with character, regaining momentum late on. A goal-line clearance denied them once, but with minutes left, captain LJ rose highest at the back post to nod home the winner. An important victory demonstrating mentality and hunger.
U9 White – Fight, Heart, and a Deserved Equaliser
Coaches: Zac P., Chris C.

A spirited display from start to finish. Despite going behind midway through the second half, the team refused to give in—battling for every ball, staying organised, and pushing forward with determination. Their persistence paid off with a well-deserved late equaliser.
With continued focus in training, especially on composure in possession, the boys are well-placed to keep progressing in the weeks ahead.
