Omonia Youth FC Weekly Round-Up: Silverware Secured as Season Draws to a Close (25th May)

June 2, 2025

As the season comes to an end, Omonia Youth FC teams continue to impress on and off the pitch. This past weekend saw more memorable performances, including a title-winning display from the U12 White Girls, while other teams finished their campaigns in style. With league and cup honours secured across multiple age groups, the club has much to celebrate as the summer approaches.

U12 White Girls Crowned League Champions in Style
League match vs Barking U12 Girls | Won 7-0 | Goal-scorer(s): Nicole (3), Melisa, Sofia | PotM: Nicole | Coaches: Tony Sylvan, Seema Golding, John Panayiotou

What a way to end the season!
This final fixture was a must-win title decider, with Omonia three points behind their opponents. The girls were challenged before kick-off to give their all — and they certainly did. From the first whistle, they were relentless: pressing, doubling up, and chasing every ball with purpose.

Poppy’s distribution was sublime, while Paris expertly broke up play in midfield. The defence — Natalie, Danielle, and Mila — remained solid throughout, and Kayci commanded her area with authority. Up front, Nicole starred with another tireless performance and a well-earned hat-trick. Melisa and Sofia added to the scoreline, and clever wing play from Faith and Danielle saw recent training efforts pay off in style.

The 7–0 win sealed the League title — and with their earlier triumph in the President’s Cup, the U12 White Girls finish the season as double champions. A remarkable debut season.

U12 Green Girls Show Heart in Narrow Defeat
League match vs Winchmore U12 Girls Green | Lost 3-4 | Coaches: John Symeou, Andy Yiannacou

The U12 Green Girls wrapped up their debut season with a spirited performance, narrowly losing 3–4 in a back-and-forth contest. They twice came from behind to lead the game, only to concede twice late on.

While the result wasn’t in their favour, the display offered plenty of promise. The team’s growth this season has been evident, and the foundation is in place for further development going into next year.

U14 White Girls End Season with Confident Win
League match vs Highgate & Muswell Hill | Won 4-2 | Goal-scorers: Lara, Faith, Zoe, Tia | PotM: Chloe | Coaches: Anthony Mattas, Tony Stylianides

The U14 White Girls ended their season on a high with a deserved 4–2 victory. Controlling large spells of the match, they played with flair and confidence, producing some excellent attacking football.

Despite a few lapses in concentration that led to goals conceded, the team responded well and should have added more to the scoreline. All four goals came from different players, each assisted by a different teammate — a true team performance. Chloe edged Player of the Match for her tireless effort, while Evi and Ria also impressed.
