Omonia took time to settle with squad changes affecting rhythm early on, but once the boys found their shape, their training work shone through. They began moving the ball well and grew in confidence, with solid defensive communication and strong tackling setting the tone. After half time, a tactical tweak transformed the performance. Energy levels lifted, passing became sharper and the team played with authority. Despite tired legs at the final whistle, it was a performance full of effort, organisation and pride.

After the Greens won their league meeting last week, the Whites came out with purpose and surged into a 4–0 lead thanks to goals from Mikey (2), Nikola and Francesco. Nicholas controlled midfield brilliantly and deserved his Player of the Match recognition. The Greens showed determination and were rewarded late on with a goal from Jason. The U9 Green started with great intensity, controlling possession and showing composure in front of goal as they took advantage early. A slight dip after the break allowed the opposition back into the game, but excellent goalkeeping from James and solid defensive work helped steady momentum. Christian’s calm reading of the game in defence earned him Player of the Match. A performance full of positives and clear areas to develop in training — exactly the balance a growing team needs.

In the second half, once back to full numbers, they produced more attacking play and forced saves and last-ditch defending. Alfie’s effort and persistence throughout earned him Player of the Match. A tough outing but one that will build resilience.

A late goal settled the tie, but the Whites left the pitch with pride after matching a strong opponent physically and technically. Ryan’s impact epitomised the team’s spirit.
