Omonia Youth FC’s Weekly Round-Up: Statement Wins, Derby Pride and Relentless Energy (12/10)

October 13, 2025

Another busy weekend for Omonia Youth FC, proudly sponsored by Stef & Phillips, with strong showings across multiple age groups. From clinical wins to powerful comebacks and a first-ever girls’ derby, every squad showed pride, progress and togetherness.

U12 White – Clinical and in Control
U12 Red Division, Home vs Hinton Revolution U12 Ballers, 3–0 win, Goals: O.G., Josiah, LJ, Player of the Match: Josie

Omonia Youth FC U12 White

Coming off last week’s penalty shootout setback, the U12 White responded brilliantly with a composed and dominant performance. Determined to prove their previous win was no one-off, they pressed aggressively from the first whistle and controlled possession confidently. Though the scoreline was more modest than their earlier 4–0 victory, the display was even more assured, with clear signs of maturity, focus and responsibility. This group continues to grow with each fixture, turning training detail into match-day execution.

U9 Green – Sharp, Structured and Growing
WFL, Away vs United Dragons Blue U9, Player of the Match: Leo, Coaches: Andy, Paul & Chris

Omonia Youth FC U9 Green

The U9 Green produced one of their most disciplined performances to date. Structure across the pitch was excellent, with players tracking back, closing down space and working as a unit. Marco and Christian were solid in defence, reading the game well, while Leo’s energy on the wing drove the team forward and earned him Player of the Match. It was a confident display that showed how far the group has progressed in match awareness and teamwork.

U16 Pan-Disability – A Milestone Match
Friendly, vs Brentford CST FC U16, 7–10, Coach: Mary Tryphona

Omonia Youth FC U16 Pan-Disability

A landmark day for the U16 Pan-Disability squad as they completed their first full-format fixture of 3×15-minute periods. Despite a tough start and early goals conceded, the team rallied with great spirit and began expressing themselves with confidence. Scoring seven goals — a huge step forward from last season — showed real development in belief and attacking play. With support from the sidelines and visible joy on the faces of the players, it was a match full of pride and progress.

U16 Green – Tested but Resilient
WFL, Home vs Ultra FC, 2–4, Coaches: Samuel & John

The U16 Green faced one of the league’s strongest and most athletic sides and were pushed to their limits physically and mentally. After going 1–0 down at half-time, they responded with determination to level the score. As fatigue set in, concentration slipped, but the team showed noticeable growth in communication and belief. Despite the result, the boys finished the game feeling confident they can win the rematch — a positive sign of mindset and development.

U14 Silver – Cup Progression with Control
Middlesex Cup, Home vs Chase Side, 3–1 win

A confident cup performance from the U14 Silver saw them advance with a composed 3–1 win. Omonia started brightly, controlling possession and dictating tempo. Goals from Alan and Michael Loucca set the tone before Chase Side pulled one back before the break. A focused second-half display led to Maxi finishing well to secure the third goal. The team showed maturity in their game management and a strong collective work ethic throughout.

U10 Green Girls – Derby Effort and Identity
GSL, Club Derby Fixture

In the first-ever U10 Omonia Girls derby, both the U10 Green Girls and U10 White Girls represented the club with pride and passion. The Greens fought with determination, pressing hard, linking play with enthusiasm and refusing to back down in any challenge. Even as the game grew more intense, they stayed focused and positive, showing togetherness and real identity on the pitch. A proud moment for the club’s growing girls’ programme.

U8 Gold – No Subs, No Problem
WFL, Home Fixture, Player of the Match: Valentino

Omonia Youth FC U8 Gold

The U8 Gold showed incredible resilience and teamwork, playing the entire match without substitutes. Their discipline in shape, decision-making and passing was excellent, reflecting their training progress. Raf and Nicholas were outstanding in their defensive duties, while Valentino delivered a standout performance — assisting goals, scoring himself, and constantly linking play. It was a brilliant effort filled with work rate and pride.

This weekend was a strong reflection of what Omonia Youth FC is building — squads competing with identity, players growing in confidence, and teams showing that effort and pride matter just as much as results. From new milestones to disciplined performances and derby moments to remember, every group took a step forward. With momentum building, there’s a real sense of excitement for what’s still to come this season.
