From dominant displays to hard-fought battles, the teams showcased their continuous development. Highlights included the U14 Whites’ emphatic cup victory, the U16 Whites’ solid cup win, and strong efforts from many other teams, all demonstrating the club’s commitment to teamwork and skill progression.
U10 Gold’s precision and teamwork impress
Omonia U10 Gold demonstrated excellent teamwork, starting and finishing their match confidently. The players controlled possession, and their fluid passing was a testament to the training work done during Friday sessions. Their precision and communication created several goal-scoring opportunities, and both halves of the game showcased their determination and progress. It’s truly rewarding to see the players develop and implement strategies so effectively, further demonstrating their growing cohesion as a unit.
U12 White Girls dominate from start to finish
The U12 White Girls made a blistering start, scoring three goals in the first 14 minutes, putting immediate pressure on the opposition. While the opposition fought back with a goal before half-time, the girls remained focused, adapting well to a more physical second half. Their attacking play led to another three goals, sealing a dominant win. Nicole Panayi was the standout player with a hat-trick, while Paris, Poppy, and Sofia also added to the scoreline.
U13 Silver show spirit in tough cup defeat
In a challenging cup match against higher division opposition, the U13 Silver team battled hard but fell to a 1-5 defeat. After two late first-half goals left them trailing, they regrouped and found a way back into the game when Nick converted a penalty. However, as they pressed for more, the opposition struck twice late on. Despite the loss, the team’s effort and resilience were evident, with lessons learned for future games.
U9 Green continue strong start to the season
Omonia U9 Green continued their strong form, delivering another impressive performance. After a slow start, the team began to click, dominating the midfield and causing problems down the flanks. Their on-form strikers capitalised on the dangerous balls whipped into the box, while their defence remained solid. The game plan and high press practiced in training were executed perfectly, further highlighting the team’s progress this season.
U14 White’s cup rout puts them through to the next round
Omonia U14 White bounced back with an 18-0 win in the WFL U14 Challenge Cup 1st Round. A 9-0 lead at half-time allowed the coaches to rotate players, and another 9 goals followed in the second half. Roman netted six goals, while Chris and Zacki scored hat-tricks. The team also kept their first clean sheet of the season, adding to the day’s positives. Player of the Match was shared by Roman, Chris, and Zacki.
U8 Green’s energy and teamwork stand out
Omonia U8 Green played with great energy and team spirit, tracking back to help defensively and pressing the opposition effectively. Improved passing, especially after recent training focus, kept the game competitive throughout the first half. Despite a dip in concentration early in the second half, the boys bounced back, scoring two late goals. The team’s collective effort and enthusiasm were evident, with Christopher named Player of the Match.
U7 White’s pressing and confidence growing
Omonia U7 White showed continued progress, with their ball control and confidence improving significantly. The team pressed higher up the pitch in the second half, creating more attacking opportunities and putting sustained pressure on the opposition. The players’ growing confidence in both possession and movement was encouraging, and their proactive approach promises more exciting performances in the future.
