Omonia Youth FC Continues to Cultivate Resilience, Growth, and Team Spirit (17th Nov)

Omonia Youth FC, a community football club sponsored by Stef & Phillips, had another week filled with determination and teamwork across all age groups highlighting the club’s continued growth both on and off the pitch.
The match reports reflect strong performances, resilience, and a shared commitment to development, with every player contributing to the club’s enduring success.


The U7 White team had an energetic match this weekend, with their enthusiasm and teamwork shining through. Despite moments of pressure, the team demonstrated their growing understanding of the game, linking up well in attack and showing resilience in defence.
The coaches were particularly impressed with the players’ positive attitude and willingness to learn, which bodes well for their development as a team.

The U9 Green team made an impressive comeback after conceding early, showing their adaptability as players shifted positions to strengthen their game. Excellent passing and possession control were key areas of focus, and the team’s counter-attacks were as devastating as ever. A solid win overall with good individual performances.

Omonia Youth FC U9 Green team

 

The U11 White team delivered an inspired performance, blending hard work with moments of individual brilliance. Their commitment in defence and creativity in attack made for an entertaining match, with plenty of positives to take away.
While there are always opportunities for growth, the coaches were thrilled with the players’ attitude and determination, which are essential for their ongoing development.

The U12 Green Girls team played with determination and focus, making the most of their opportunities in a competitive match. Their strong communication and teamwork stood out, as did their ability to remain composed under pressure.
This performance demonstrated their growth as a team and their commitment to improving each week. The coaches were proud of their effort and look forward to seeing more positive results in the coming weeks.

The U9 Silver team faced a tough challenge this week, showing flashes of brilliance alongside moments of struggle. On a challenging sloped pitch, their passing and teamwork in the first half stood out, demonstrating their capability when fully focused.
However, maintaining consistency proved a learning curve, with dips in concentration allowing the opposition to find opportunities. Encouragingly, the team’s resilience and effort shone through in key moments, leaving the coaches optimistic about their development.

Omonia Youth FC U9 Silver team

 

The U13 Silver team played with energy and resilience in a hard-fought match. First-half pressure from the opposition tested the defence, but the team responded with fantastic counter-attacks and solid defensive work.
Their improved focus and communication in the second half allowed them to grow into the game, and the coaches praised their teamwork and determination. The squad is showing great potential for the rest of the season.

The U14 Green team lived up to their title as holders of the Challenge Cup with a dominant performance against a well-organised Brent Cross team. Players executed training tactics to perfection, and the team’s communication and cohesion were standout aspects of the match.

The U15 Green team earned a well-deserved 5-5 draw against a team that had beaten them earlier in the season. Despite a 4-1 deficit at halftime, the team came back strong in the second half, with a hat-trick from Denzel and key goals from Jack & Kristian, showing their full potential.

The U16 White team faced a challenging match but showed plenty of determination and resilience. Despite the opposition’s early pressure, the team stayed organised and fought back with some promising attacking plays.
The coaches emphasised the importance of maintaining focus and discipline, praising the players for their effort and willingness to learn. There’s plenty to look forward to as the season progresses.

The U10 Girls team delivered a strong first-half performance, showcasing fantastic teamwork and individual skill. The players created some wonderful passages of play, which reflected their growing confidence and understanding of the game.
In the second half, the team faced pressure but remained determined, showing their ability to adapt and stay committed. The coaches were proud of their effort and positive attitude throughout, as the players continue to grow and develop as a cohesive unit.

Omonia Youth FC U10 Girls team

 

The U18 Girls team’s thrilling 5-3 win saw the U18 Girls book their place in the semi-finals of the League Cup. Despite conceding an early goal, they fought back with two quick strikes and never looked back. Ellie’s hat-trick and Shekhinah’s brace sealed the victory, with vital contributions from Hallie, Sophie, and Eliza. Player of the match: Ellie

The U18 White team controlled their 5-1 victory with an excellent second-half display. After a 1-1 first half, the team responded to halftime instructions with fluid football, scoring four more goals in a dominant second half. Bradley B. was a standout performer throughout.

The U12 White team’s clinical 13-2 victory saw the U12 Whites return to form with relentless pressing and excellent passing play. Mikey and Nikola both had standout performances with multiple goals, while Nicholas was instrumental in midfield, providing an unselfish assist to set up the team’s seventh goal.
