Breaking Barriers: Omonia Youth FC Champions Football for All (Video)

December 5, 2024

At Omonia Youth FC, we are proud to lead the way in creating opportunities for everyone to experience the joy of football. Our club provides pathways for boys, girls, and pan-disability teams, welcoming players aged 6 to 18 into an inclusive and supportive environment.

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. Whether through our boys’ and girls’ teams or the rapid growth of our pan-disability program—which now features three teams—we are committed to breaking barriers and ensuring football is accessible to all, regardless of ability, gender, or background.

One of our key ambassadors of this vision is our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Officer, Mary Tryphona. Her tireless work to foster a culture of belonging and inclusivity has not gone unnoticed. Recently, Mary was interviewed by The FA and featured in one of their inspiring videos, showcasing her passion and the club’s dedication to making football a sport for everyone. This recognition is a proud moment for our club and a testament to the meaningful impact grassroots football can have in promoting diversity and creating safe, welcoming spaces for all. Through initiatives like our pan-disability program and the expansion of opportunities for girls and boys, we continue to build a vibrant community united by a love for the game.

At Omonia Youth FC, football isn’t just a sport; it’s a place where everyone can belong.
