Despite initial struggles, the team displayed improvement in the second half, showcasing better cohesion and defensive strength. The limited numbers didn’t hinder them from securing a well-worked goal. Coach Athanasia praised the girls for their efforts, foreseeing greater improvements once a consistent team can be fielded in all matches.

U11 Wildcats White Display Growing Confidence: Ali Emir and Tony Sylvan’s Omonia Youth FC U11 Wildcats White girls team showcased their development and growing confidence in their GSL match. Having previously faced their opponents in a friendly earlier in the season, the Wildcats recognised the opposition’s progress since their last encounter. Undeterred, the team entered the match with enthusiasm, riding a wave of stellar performances.

In this week’s GSL match, the Whites demonstrated a further improved performance by seamlessly passing the ball around, reflecting increased trust among teammates and a boost in self-belief, fearlessly running at their opposition and keeping them on the back-foot.

As the season nears the half-way point, the Wildcats are keen to maintain their momentum into the final match of the calendar year, eyeing a chance to redeem themselves against their first-ever GSL opponents from last season. A victorious end would make for a fantastic Christmas gift for the girls over the festive break.

Omonia U8 Silver Learns Valuable Team Lesson in WFL Clash: In a WFL match led by Kyri Karaiskakis, the U8 Silver team faced challenges on a larger pitch, affecting their usual teamwork focus. Overwhelmed at times by the size, the boys experienced both successes and valuable lessons. Though not a total washout, moments of effective teamwork, highlighted by accurate passing and brave goalkeeping, provided silver linings in the learning process.

Omonia Youth FC’s weekend of triumphs reflects not only on-field success but also the spirit of determination and growth ingrained in every team. The commitment, resilience, and promising performances across various age groups showcase the bright future of these young athletes. Omonia Youth FC continues to inspire with its dedication to fostering talent and sportsmanship within the community.
