Omonia Youth FC Weekly Round-Up: Football, Friendship and Festive Kindness (26/10)

October 27, 2025

It was another weekend filled with energy, determination, and community spirit for Omonia Youth FC, proudly sponsored by Stef & Phillips. On the pitch, players showcased their progress and passion for the game, while off it, the club continued to demonstrate its heart for helping others through an inspiring charity drive that brought smiles to many.

U11 Silver Girls – Spirited and Brave
GSL, Away vs Talent X, Player of the Match: Florrie

Omonia Youth FC U11 Silver Girls team

The U11 Silver Girls took on a skilful opponent in what proved to be a challenging yet rewarding match. The team began with great energy and organisation, matching their opponents stride for stride and creating good chances through teamwork and determination. In the second half, their opponents showed quality in possession, but Omonia’s resilience shone through — pressing, tackling, and battling until the final whistle. It was a performance full of heart and commitment, with Florrie outstanding in defence, reading the game superbly and producing two remarkable goal-line clearances. The team can be very proud of their continued improvement and never-say-die attitude.

U12 White – Relentless and Ruthless
WFL Red Division, Away vs Bloomsbury Youth U12 Gold, 3–0 win, Goals: Josiah, LJ, Lockie, Player of the Match: LJ

Omonia Youth FC U12 White team

After a week off, the U12 White returned with renewed focus and put in a commanding away performance to extend their winning league run to five games. Despite several players carrying knocks, the squad’s effort, work rate, and discipline were immense. Every player fought for the shirt, pressing high, battling for every loose ball, and staying composed in possession. The highlight of the match came when LJ unleashed a thunderous 25-yard strike that flew into the top corner. A “monster mentality” display from start to finish — proof of a team hungry to keep improving each week.

Omonia Youth FC supports Barnet Hospital’s Children’s Charity
75 Pyjamas, 75 Smiles – and Counting!

Omonia Youth FC Pyjama Collection Drive

Off the pitch, Omonia Youth FC’s generosity and sense of community truly shone. The club’s pyjama collection drive, launched in partnership with Barnet Hospital’s Children’s Charity, has captured the hearts of families, players, and supporters alike. What began as a small act of kindness — collecting 75 pairs of pyjamas in our first drive — has now grown into something remarkable. Thanks to continued generosity from our community, over 200 brand-new pyjamas [and still counting!] have now been donated and delivered to bring warmth and comfort to children spending Christmas in hospital.

The photos from the event capture the spirit of the Omonia family perfectly — rows of neatly wrapped gifts, smiling volunteers, and players proudly standing beside the ever-growing mountain of donations. Every parcel represents the kindness and unity that define this club. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who donated, wrapped, and supported this initiative. Through generosity and compassion, Omonia continues to show that community truly matters — on and off the pitch.

This weekend reflected everything Omonia Youth FC stands for: teamwork, perseverance, and togetherness. From brave performances under pressure to acts of kindness that make a difference, the club’s players, coaches, and families continue to show why football at Omonia is about much more than the game itself.
