Omonia Youth FC’s Weekly Round-Up: Battles, Breakthroughs and Brave Performances (05/10)

Another exciting weekend for Omonia Youth FC, proudly sponsored by Stef & Phillips, as teams across all age groups showed commitment, determination, and steady progress. From nail-biting finishes to composed cup clashes, the young Greens and Whites gave everything on the pitch and represented the club with pride.

 

U12 White – Fighting Spirit in the Cup
U12 League Cup, Away vs London FITS U12, 2–2 (Lost 4–3 on penalties), Goals: Grayson, Ollie, Player of the Match: Harry

Omonia Youth FC U12 White

A real battle of a match for the U12 White against one of the most physical sides they’ve faced this season. After a tough opening 15 minutes that saw them go two goals down, Omonia regrouped and began matching their opponents’ intensity. Two well-taken goals brought the game level midway through the second half, and from there, the team dominated. Despite their strong finish, the result went against them in the shootout, but their attitude, resilience, and team effort were outstanding.

 

U11 Silver Girls – All-Out Effort in a Thriller

Omonia Youth FC U11 Silver Girls

The U11 Silver Girls played their most exciting game of the season so far. Both teams were evenly matched, producing a fast-paced, end-to-end contest with some brilliant passing and teamwork. Though a few mistakes proved costly, the attitude and determination were excellent throughout. Sofia earned the Manager’s Player of the Game for her positive runs, while Florrie was awarded Player of the Month for consistent performances. The team can be very proud of their display.

 

U11 Silver – Strength and Style

Omonia Youth FC U11 Silver

The U11 Silver produced a thrilling display of end-to-end football. Confidence was clear from the start, as the team passed fluidly and showed excellent movement through midfield. Their finishing in the first half was clinical, while the second half tested their stamina. With new signings blending seamlessly into the squad, Omonia finished strongly, showing teamwork, control, and great spirit. Plenty of positives to take forward as the season continues.

 

U14 Silver – Derby Delight
U14 League, Home vs New Salamis, 1–0 win, Goals: Max, Player of the Match: Alex

A derby in both intensity and atmosphere saw the U14 Silver secure a well-earned win. After a physical first half, Omonia began to control possession and tempo. A tactical tweak at half-time paid off, as Harvey’s corner was neatly finished by Max for the game’s only goal. The team showed defensive composure and resilience, with Alex named Player of the Match for his consistency throughout. A fantastic start to the season and a strong platform to build on.

 

U10 Green Girls – Bright Play and Team Unity

Omonia Youth FC U10 Green Girls

Under sunny skies, the U10 Green Girls produced a superb display of teamwork and determination. From the first whistle, they pressed energetically, supported one another, and communicated well across the pitch. Strong defending and clever passing moves created plenty of chances, making it an exciting match for everyone watching. The performance reflected their continued improvement, effort, and togetherness — a truly positive outing.

 

U13 Gold – Strong Start Despite the Scoreline

A spirited cup performance from the U13 Gold, who started brilliantly with an early long-range goal from Logan. The team created numerous chances with impressive passing and defensive effort, including a brave goal-line block from Alfie. Though the result ended 3–1, the players showed heart, skill, and unity throughout. Teddy earned Player of the Match for his work rate and leadership in midfield.

 

U9 White – Best Display Yet
WFL, Home vs Hinton Revolution Legends, strong all-round performance, Coaches: Zac Pilalis & Chris Christodoulides

The U9 White continued their steady development with their most cohesive performance so far. The players worked tirelessly, particularly in the second half where they kept a clean sheet. The focus at training on defensive shape and composure under pressure is clearly paying off, with lots of positives to take into the coming fixtures.

 

U15 White – Comeback of the Weekend
WFL, Away vs Winchmore Hill U15, 4–4 draw, Goals: Zak, Chris (2), Alex X, Players of the Match: Nick & Zak

The U15 White produced one of the games of the weekend in a dramatic 4–4 draw. Despite trailing 4–0, they showed incredible character to mount a remarkable comeback. Tactical changes and renewed belief saw Omonia fight back through goals from Zak, Chris, and Alex X, with the final equaliser coming from the penalty spot. Nick and Zak shared Player of the Match honours for their adaptability, work ethic, and influence.

 

U15 Silver – Second-Half Resurgence
WFL, Home vs Hinton & Finchley U15, 0–3 loss, Player of the Match: Abel

Omonia Youth FC U15 Silver

Still in their early stages as a new team, the U15 Silver showed commendable fight despite a challenging first half. Adjustments at the break tightened the structure and led to a much-improved second half. Abel’s tireless running and effort down the wing stood out, earning him Player of the Match, while the whole team displayed the kind of determination that bodes well for the weeks ahead.

 

U10 White – Confident and Composed

Omonia Youth FC U10 White

The U10 White delivered a controlled and confident performance, building on recent progress. Excellent positioning, ball control, and composure helped them dominate much of the game. Despite a late rally from the opposition, the team remained calm and finished with a superb final goal to cap off the display. A very encouraging performance that reflected both training-ground focus and growing understanding among the players.

 

U15 Gold – Spirited Fight in Top-of-the-Table Clash

Omonia Youth FC U15 Gold

A thrilling top-of-the-table encounter saw the U15 Gold battle to a well-earned 3–3 draw. Facing one of the strongest sides in the league, Omonia showed their progress and composure, controlling large parts of the game through smart pressing and quick ball recovery. Despite trailing 3–1 midway through the second half after being caught out by long balls, the boys refused to give up. Their persistence paid off with two late goals, levelling the score and finishing the stronger side. The opposition’s goalkeeper produced several superb saves to deny a dramatic winner. Yash Sojitra claimed Player of the Match after a standout performance and two well-taken goals.

 

This weekend showcased everything Omonia Youth FC stands for — teamwork, resilience, and passion for the game. Across all age groups, players are growing in confidence, applying what they learn in training, and playing football the Omonia way: with heart, togetherness, and joy.
