Boys Football

A thriving and inclusive pathway for boys from grassroots to competitive youth football

At Omonia Youth FC, we are proud to offer a thriving boys’ football pathway, designed to develop players from grassroots level through to competitive youth football.

Development Centre (U6 – U7)

Our Development Centre provides a fun, supportive and inspiring environment for boys aged U6–U7 (year 1 – year 2) who want to learn, play and enjoy football.

This programme is training only, designed to help young players build skills, confidence and a love for the game.

As players develop and reach the U8 age group, they will have the opportunity to progress into one of our teams, where they can begin playing in organised matches and continue their football journey within Omonia Youth FC.

Boys Teams (U7 - U18)

We currently have approximately 30 teams across the U7 – U18 age groups, providing a clear pathway for players at every stage of their development.

While structured as boys’ teams, girls are also welcome to join and compete within these teams, creating opportunities for all players to develop in a challenging and supportive environment.

All of our teams compete in the highly respected Watford Friendly League, offering a strong and competitive setting that focuses on player development, teamwork, discipline, and enjoyment of the game.

Enhanced Grassroots Training

Alongside our weekly sessions, we have partnered with TFA (The Transition Football Academy) to provide enhanced grassroots training for Omonia Youth FC players seeking additional development opportunities.

These extra weekly sessions are designed to support player growth, improve technical ability, and build confidence in a structured, high-quality training environment.

Goal Keeper Training

We also offer weekly goalkeeper training sessions for all Omonia Youth FC players who aspire to play in goal or wish to develop additional specialist skills.

These sessions are designed to enhance core goalkeeping techniques, build confidence, and provide focused coaching in a supportive and professional environment.

Cup Competitions

In addition to regular league fixtures, our teams competing in the Watford Friendly League also take part in a range of exciting cup competitions throughout the season.

These competitions provide valuable knockout football experience and the opportunity for our players to compete for silverware.

League Cup Competitions

Depending on age group eligibility, teams may participate in:

  • Middlesex Cup
  • WFL Challenge Cup
  • WFL League Cup
  • WFL Junior League Cup
  • Dan Hudson Memorial Challenge & League Cup

Cup fixtures are played alongside league matches during the season, with finals typically held towards the end of the season.

These competitions form an important part of our football calendar, giving players the opportunity to compete in high-intensity matches, build resilience, and represent Omonia Youth FC with pride.

Our qualified coaches create a positive, structured environment where players can develop technically, tactically, and physically; while building confidence and lifelong friendships.
