Another brilliant weekend for Omonia Youth FC saw our teams in action, each showcasing the club’s identity through effort, development, and togetherness. From tightly contested matches to standout individual moments and emotional farewells, it was a weekend full of positives across the board.

As we head towards the summer period, excitement is also building off the pitch. Our upcoming summer tournament is fast approaching, and we’re pleased to highlight that we currently have availability in our girls’ age groups as well as the U7 boys age group. It promises to be a fantastic event, and we encourage anyone interested to get involved and be part of the Omonia experience.

U10 Green

The Greens were involved in an excellent, closely fought contest against a strong Winchmore Hill side, with both teams contributing to a high-quality match played in great spirit throughout.

From the outset, the game was evenly balanced, with each side showing determination, good organisation, and a real willingness to play positive football. The Greens worked tirelessly across the pitch, combining disciplined defending with confident, purposeful attacking play.

Their teamwork and resilience were evident in every phase, while the opposition provided a constant challenge with their own quality and energy. It was an absorbing encounter that showcased the very best of youth football, with both teams deserving huge credit for their effort, attitude, and sportsmanship.

U7 White

Omonia Youth FC U7 White

It was a crisp morning fixture, and the team delivered a brilliant performance full of resilience and character, coming from behind to push forward and find the net.

However, this match carried extra significance as it marked the final appearance for Zac, who is set to move to Cyprus. As one of the club’s original players, Zac has grown from the Development Centre into a key member of the U7 squad, leaving a lasting impact on teammates and coaches alike.

He will be greatly missed—especially for those unforgettable last-minute winning goals.

From Coach Ant, Coach George, and all of the Omonia White family, we wish Zac the very best for the future and hope football continues to play a big part in his journey.

U13 Girls
GSL | Home | Draw 1–1 | Goal-scorer: Taylor | Player of the Match: Taylor

Omonia Youth FC U13 Girls

A feisty encounter between local rivals saw Omonia endure a slow start, with the opposition taking early control. Despite this, the girls gradually grew into the game, competing strongly in key battles and showing greater intent going forward.

Against the run of play, Omonia fell behind to a deflected free kick midway through the first half. However, the setback only seemed to fuel their determination.

The second half was dominated by Omonia, who controlled possession and consistently looked to play forward in search of an equaliser. After several near misses, the breakthrough finally came in style, as Taylor produced a superb free kick that curled into the top corner.

With momentum fully on their side, Omonia pushed hard for a winner, spending long periods in the opposition half. Despite their efforts, the decisive goal wouldn’t come, and the match ended level—but full of positives and attacking intent.

U11 Girls White
GSL | Home | vs Broxbourne FC U11 Girls | Player of the Match: Aria

A determined and spirited performance from the girls saw them go toe-to-toe with a strong Broxbourne side, showing excellent character and togetherness throughout.

The first half was a fantastic contest, with Omonia matching their opponents across the pitch. Their organisation, discipline, and work rate ensured the teams went into half-time level, a fair reflection of their efforts despite facing a side with real attacking threat.

A special mention goes to Aria, who delivered an outstanding man-marking display, nullifying Broxbourne’s captain and key player. Her focus, determination, and understanding of her role made a huge impact on the game.

In the second half, Broxbourne managed to edge ahead, but the scoreline didn’t reflect the full story. Omonia continued to battle until the final whistle, showing resilience and a never-give-up attitude.

The moment of the match came from Leah, whose incredible free kick flew into the top corner with precision and confidence—truly a goal of the highest quality, and one that would make even David Beckham proud. A strong contender for goal of the season.

With Easter approaching, the girls certainly earned their chocolate eggs with a performance full of effort, teamwork, and heart.

It was a weekend that perfectly reflected what Omonia Youth FC is all about—development, resilience, and unity. With exciting opportunities like our summer tournament on the horizon, and spaces still available in our girls’ sections and U7 boys, there’s never been a better time to get involved and be part of the journey.

It was another productive weekend for Omonia Youth FC, with teams across the age groups delivering performances full of energy, quality and determination. From league encounters to continued progress in the Spring Plate, there was plenty to be encouraged by, alongside a special example of collaboration and support within the pan-disability programme.

U9 Green – A Game of Two Halves
WFL | Home vs Enfield Rangers U9 White | PotM: James | Coaches: Andy, Paul & Chris

This was a real game of two halves against a physical Enfield side, where the focus was on matching intensity and moving the ball forward quickly. Omonia produced an excellent first-half display, full of energy and organisation, linking up well and creating multiple chances while limiting the opposition’s time on the ball.

The second half saw a drop in intensity, allowing Enfield back into the game. Communication and work rate dipped, making it difficult to maintain control. Despite this, there were still strong individual contributions, with Leo making a positive impact and James delivering an assured performance in goal to earn Player of the Match. A performance with clear positives and important lessons moving forward.

U14 Silver – Albion Hat-Trick Secures Victory
WFL | Away vs Aloysius U14 | 2–3 | Goals: Albion x3

After a bright start, Omonia took a deserved lead through Albion, who finished a well-worked move at the second attempt. A dip in intensity allowed Aloysius back into the game, but Omonia held a 1–0 lead at the break.

The second half began evenly before Aloysius equalised, but the response was immediate as Albion restored the lead with a smart finish following good interplay. Omonia continued to create chances and were unfortunate not to be awarded two clear penalties. Aloysius levelled again against the run of play, but the team reacted positively, with Albion completing his hat-trick to secure a deserved victory in an end-to-end contest.

U15 White – Statement Win in the Spring Plate
Spring Plate | Away vs Whetstone U15 Tigers | 0–4

Omonia faced familiar opposition in the Spring Plate, with another meeting to come in the League Cup semi-finals. The first half required patience as the team looked to settle and keep the ball on the ground, with goalkeeper Aref making important saves to keep the score level. A missed penalty from the opposition proved to be a turning point, serving as a wake-up call.

The second half saw a much-improved display, with Yahya causing constant problems down the right. The breakthrough came through a moment of brilliance, as Alex P curled an outstanding effort into the top corner for his first goal of the season, before repeating the feat to double his tally. Further goals from Abel and George, supported by assists from James, Yahya and Theo, sealed an impressive 4–0 victory. Alex P earned Player of the Match, while the result keeps Omonia top of the group and unbeaten in the competition.

U12 White – Return to Form with Impressive Display
Away vs Bloomsbury U12 | 1–4 | Goals: Ollie, Grayson x2, Preston | PotM: Lockie

Omonia Youth FC U12 White

The U12 Whites produced a fantastic performance, particularly in the first half, showing a return to their best form after a challenging period. With a focus on work rate, intensity and aggression, the team delivered a display full of determination, complemented by confident passing football.

The goals reflected both teamwork and individual quality, with Ollie, Grayson (twice) and Preston all finding the net. Lockie’s overall contribution earned him Player of the Match, while the collective effort sets a strong foundation for the remainder of the season.

Pan-Disability – Shared Success and Strong Partnerships
HYIF

The pan-disability programme enjoyed a brilliant day of football, with both the U16s and U20s sides competing in the HYIF competition. With support from Welwyn Garden City and Bedwell, players were able to take part and represent Omonia in a fantastic environment built on inclusivity and collaboration.

The joint team went on to win the U16s tournament, while the U20s produced a strong performance to finish as runners-up. Most importantly, the day was full of enjoyment for the players and highlighted the positive spirit within the league, where coaches and teams continue to support one another to create meaningful opportunities for all involved.

Another strong weekend for Omonia Youth FC, with teams continuing to develop, compete and represent the club with pride. From standout individual performances to collective success and community-driven moments, the progress across all groups remains clear as the season continues.

It was another busy weekend across the age groups for Omonia Youth FC, with seven Omonia teams involved across six matches showing determination, teamwork and steady progress. From competitive league encounters to an all-Omonia derby in the Spring Plate, there were plenty of encouraging moments on the pitch. The club also enjoyed a special post-match moment involving one of the biggest names in British sport, a reminder of the reach and connections Omonia continues to build within the wider sporting community.

U11 Girls Silver – Character Against Strong Opposition
Away vs Marylebone U11 Girls | PotM: Aayla & Sofia

Omonia Youth FC U11 Girls Silver

The girls showed fantastic character against a very experienced side widely regarded as the strongest in the league. From the first whistle to the last they battled for every ball and never allowed their heads to drop. Despite the challenge, Omonia created several excellent chances, hitting the woodwork twice and the side netting, while the opposition goalkeeper produced a series of impressive saves. It was one of those matches where the effort deserved more reward, but the teamwork, determination and spirit shown by the girls was outstanding. Aayla earned Player of the Match recognition for some great saves, while Sofia was tireless throughout with her relentless running and work rate.

U7 White – Full Squad, Full Effort

It was a special day for the U7 Whites as, for the first time in several months, all eight players were available following a period of holidays and illness. The players handled the frequent substitutions well and worked hard to stay focused and support one another throughout the game. Despite going behind, the team remained calm and positive, continuing to work hard and believe in themselves. Their energy and determination never dropped, and their resilience ultimately paid off with a result that reflected their collective effort. A fantastic display of team spirit and belief.

The Spring Plate produced an all-Omonia derby at the Radiomarathon Centre, with the U15 Silver and U15 White sides facing each other in a competitive cup encounter. The Whites play two divisions higher, but the Silvers produced a brave and organised performance, particularly in the first half, showing good composure in midfield and even striking the crossbar when they came close to opening the scoring. Strong performances came from Zac, Kerem in goal, Mahdi and new addition Nubyad.

The Whites used the match as an opportunity to rotate players and gradually found their rhythm in the second half, creating chances through River, Adam, Alex X and George. Chris added a powerful goal directly from a corner, while Edmund scored an excellent solo effort for his first goal of the season. It was a valuable contest for both teams, highlighting the development and depth within the club’s U15 age group.

The U12 Greens delivered arguably their best performance of the season in a hard-fought draw against a strong Borehamwood side. Earlier in the season the opposition had proved difficult to handle, but this time Omonia matched them in every area of the pitch.

The breakthrough came after some excellent build-up play, with Tye producing a moment of brilliance by turning two defenders and firing into the top corner. Borehamwood responded with sustained pressure and eventually equalised before half-time despite a superb initial save from James.

The second half saw Omonia continue to compete strongly, working tirelessly for one another. After another excellent save, James quickly released Tye, who ran clear and finished calmly to restore the lead with his 21st goal of the season. Borehamwood eventually found a late equaliser through a determined run and finish, but the performance demonstrated how far this group has progressed. James’ outstanding goalkeeping earned him Player of the Match, while the entire squad showed tremendous commitment and growth.

Facing one of the strongest teams in the league, the U8 Silvers produced an excellent display full of determination and quality. The first-half performance was particularly impressive, with the boys showing great organisation and energy across the pitch. In the second half the Knights increased the pressure, but Omonia continued to compete well and the result reflected a very balanced contest.

There were several standout contributions, including Jack’s blistering runs down the wing despite not feeling his best earlier in the week, Isaac’s strong defensive work and sensible distribution from the back, and Hugo’s outstanding point-blank save that kept the team firmly in the match. Player of the Match went to Ohan for his strength, determination and driving runs that helped push the team forward.

The Greens battled extremely hard on a bright morning away in Hendon. The opposition started aggressively and pressed Omonia from the kick-off, giving the boys very little time on the ball. Despite this, the team produced some excellent build-up play and created a number of promising goal-scoring opportunities. As the game progressed the boys began to combine more effectively and their persistence was rewarded with two late goals in the second half. It was a positive display with strong individual contributions across the pitch.

The match also ended with a memorable moment off the field, as world-renowned heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua joined the post-match discussion. His appearance highlighted the wide reach of the Omonia community and the strong links the club continues to build within the world of sport.

Another weekend that showcased the spirit of Omonia Youth FC, with teams competing strongly, developing together and representing the club with pride.

A busy weekend for Omonia Youth FC saw five teams in action across league, cup and pan-disability fixtures. There were impressive victories, determined performances and plenty of goals, with several sides demonstrating the progress being made both individually and collectively across the club.

Here is a look at how the teams got on.

U14 Silver
League | Home vs Aloysius | 6–1 | Goal-scorers: Jack x2, Max x2, Alex, Alan | Player of the Match: Andreas

A dominant performance from the outset saw Omonia quickly settle into their passing game and control the match. Several promising chances were created before the breakthrough arrived through a fine run and finish from Jack. Despite continued pressure, the score remained 1–0 at half-time.

The half-time discussion focused on progressing the ball into clearer attacking opportunities, and the team responded superbly. Jack continued his recent scoring form with another excellent left-foot finish after an intricate team move, before Alex added a third following another well-worked passage of play.

Aloysius pulled a goal back after a defensive error, but Omonia reacted immediately. Max fired in a quick double before Alan added the goal his performance deserved. It was an excellent display supported by some superb football throughout.

U16 Girls White
GSL | Home vs Bloomsbury Girls Purple | 3–1

Omonia Youth FC U16 White

An outstanding performance from the girls saw them adapt brilliantly to a change in formation and positions. The tactical switch paid off early, with Omonia dominating possession and showing strong attacking intent across the pitch.

The team controlled the opening stages and raced into a two-goal lead within the first fifteen minutes thanks to goals from Ria, who earned Player of the Match for her excellent display.

A brief lapse allowed Bloomsbury to pull a goal back from a corner before half-time, but Omonia responded well in the second half. With the opposition pushing forward, the girls held their composure and regained control of the match. Amelia sealed the victory with a superb goal, showing great skill before firing in from the edge of the box.

A deserved win that reflected the team’s continued improvement. The coaches also expressed their appreciation to the parents for their constant support from the sidelines.

U9 Green
Away vs HMH U9 Tigers | Player of the Match: George | Coaches: Andy, Paul, Chris

Omonia Youth FC U9 Green

Omonia delivered a very positive performance, showing great energy throughout despite having no substitutes available. The boys moved the ball forward with purpose, creating several promising attacks. Greg linked up well with both Michael and Manu on the wings, while George’s intelligent movement helped create a number of chances and put the team in a comfortable position heading into the second half.

The second half began in a similar fashion, with Omonia pressing well and limiting the opposition’s time on the ball. The Tigers threatened occasionally with long-range efforts, but the boys reacted quickly to close down space. Later in the half, Omonia found it harder to play out from the back and faced increased pressure, though James remained composed in goal to deal with the danger.

George’s tireless running and clever movement made a significant impact in both attack and defence, earning him Player of the Match in what was a strong team performance.

U16 Pan-Disability

A big thank you was extended to Craig from Brentford for helping supervise the team alongside Jonathan, a parent of one of the players, while the regular coach was unavailable.

The squad produced a series of competitive performances across several games. Goals from Jaydon and Matthew secured a 2–0 victory over Disability in Action, with strong contributions across the team.

There was a narrow 2–0 defeat against Brentford, with the team competing well throughout before conceding two late goals. The final match of the day ended in a tight 3–2 loss to Ruislip as fatigue began to take its toll, with Jaydon and Matthew once again finding the net.

Special mention also goes to Reuben from Disability in Action, who stepped in to play two games in goal for Omonia.

U13 Gold
Home Cup | Away vs AP West | 4–8 | Player of the Match: Logan

On a grey Sunday morning at JCoSS, Omonia Gold U13 faced a strong AP West side in their Home Cup fixture. The opposition opened the scoring and gradually built a lead, but there were encouraging moments throughout the match.

Teddy made an excellent save while in goal during the first half, while Alfie and Christian both tested the goalkeeper with efforts on target. Eren struck a penalty well but was denied by a good save. Omonia’s first goal came from a corner delivered by Christian, with Logan reacting quickest to tap the ball into the net.

Johnny took over in goal during the second half and produced several strong saves as Omonia pushed forward in search of goals. Christian added another, Teddy found the net after moving outfield, and Logan calmly converted a penalty.

Despite the 8–4 scoreline, the team showed great determination and continued battling until the final whistle. Logan’s two goals and all-round performance earned him a well-deserved Player of the Match award.

Another weekend of valuable minutes and encouraging performances across the age groups, with players continuing to develop, compete and represent the club with pride.

Severe weather across the weekend meant that many fixtures were unfortunately postponed, but two Omonia sides still managed to take to the pitch and produce encouraging performances. Despite the challenging conditions, both teams showed commitment, resilience and quality — with one side continuing an impressive run in the Spring Cup.

U14 Silver
Spring Cup | Away vs AFC Southgate | Win 5–1 | Goal-scorers: Albion (2), Jack (2), Nick

A strong and well-earned victory saw the U14 Silver side finish top of their group and progress into the quarter-finals of the Spring Cup. Omonia began the match in control, managing possession well and creating the better opportunities during the first half.

At the break, the focus was on increasing attacking intent and playing with greater tempo. The second half started positively, although a defensive error allowed AFC Southgate to score against the run of play. The response from the boys was immediate and impressive. A flowing passing move led to Albion finishing confidently to level the score, before he added a superb solo goal soon after.

Momentum firmly shifted in Omonia’s favour, with Jack finishing neatly on two occasions before Nick completed the scoring with a remarkable free kick from 30 yards out. A composed and confident display that keeps the cup journey moving forward.

U9 Green
Away vs United Dragons U9 Blue | Player of the Match: Leonidas | Coaches: Andy, Paul & Chris

Played on a muddy surface that made fluent passing difficult, the Greens started brightly and created several early chances through positive attacking play. As the half progressed, the team lost some of their shape and began holding onto the ball slightly too long, allowing United Dragons a spell of pressure before the interval.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with encouraging attacking moments alongside areas where improved composure and structure will be key moving forward. There was plenty to like in the team’s attacking intent, and the experience will provide valuable learning points for training.

Leonidas produced an excellent all-round performance, showing great energy and determination in both attack and defence to earn a well-deserved Player of the Match.

As always, attention now turns to the weeks ahead — and a reminder that spaces for our upcoming Summer Tournament are filling quickly. Teams interested in taking part are encouraged to register sooner rather than later to avoid missing out once the remaining places are taken.

Another weekend that reflected the many sides of Omonia Youth FC — strong performances on the pitch, pride in our continued cup journey, and meaningful work beyond football through our Antigua kit donation initiative. With preparations also well underway for our upcoming Summer Tournament, it’s been a week that perfectly captures the spirit of the club.

U10 White – Trusting the Omonia Way
vs Sporting Kids Blue | Coaches: Mike & Cos

Omonia Youth FC U10 White

Following a difficult outing last week, the emphasis in training was clear: receive and pass. The coaching team challenged the players to trust one another, keep their heads up and move the ball with confidence. The response was outstanding. The boys embraced the philosophy, playing with composure and intent, and showing real understanding of how simple, effective passing opens the game up. It was arguably their performance of the season so far — a joy to watch as they passed, moved and expressed themselves the Omonia way.

U11 Girls White – We Were the Storm
vs Winchmore Hill U12 Girls | PotM: Florence

Omonia Youth FC U11 Girls White

On a weekend of wind and rain, the girls produced a performance full of heart and defiance. With no substitutes and facing older opposition, they demonstrated resilience, unity and belief from the first whistle. The defence was resolute, earning a well-deserved clean sheet, while Khloe and Ellie Mitchell provided the magic in front of goal. Florence led superbly from the back, combining strong tackling with intelligent distribution to earn Player of the Match. A fearless display that showed just how far this group has come.

U15 White – Ten-Goal Statement in the Cup
vs AC Southgate South | Cup Fixture

Omonia Youth FC U15 White

Omonia’s impressive cup run gathered serious momentum with a commanding 10–0 victory. From the outset, the Whites played with intensity and cohesion, producing one of their most complete performances of the season. George was clinical once again, claiming a first-half hat-trick, while Abel and Adam both added braces to underline the attacking dominance.Defensively, Denys, River, Ryan and Chris were composed and organised throughout, providing the platform for midfielders Alexa P and Edmond to control proceedings. Even after an injury reshuffle, the team adapted seamlessly, maintaining control and discipline. Highlights included a superb long-range strike from Atilla and a well-taken volley from River following a James corner. A result that not only reflects quality but clear progression — this group continues to grow in confidence and cohesion at exactly the right time.

Proud Moments – Kits Donated to Antigua

Beyond the results, the club continues to make an impact off the pitch. Thanks to the generosity of our families, a fresh collection of pre-loved Omonia kits, sportswear and boots has been donated to a charity in Antigua.

The initiative, originally started by former Vice Chair Chris Mousicos, saw Club Chair Sophia Karanicholas and Head of Trustees Demi Shiamishis join Chris at the Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda to officially hand over the latest shipment. The Embassy kindly arranged transportation, ensuring the kits will soon benefit young players overseas. A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed — your support truly extends the Omonia family beyond North London.

Summer Tournament – Limited Spaces Remaining

Preparations continue for our prestigious Summer Tournament, one of the very few mixed competitions in and around London. With age groups from U7 to U15 and boys’ and girls’ categories running across the weekend, places are filling quickly.

A limited number of spaces remain, and teams are encouraged to secure their spot early to avoid missing out on what promises to be another exceptional event.

From dominant cup displays to storm-defying performances, from community generosity to tournament anticipation, it has been another week that showcases the ambition, unity and pride that define Omonia Youth FC — on the pitch and far beyond it.

Under grey winter skies, Omonia Youth FC were back in competitive action this weekend, with league and cup fixtures continuing to take centre stage across the club. Alongside the weekly matches, preparations are well underway for Omonia’s annual summer tournament, which has become a standout date in the grassroots calendar – with age groups from U7 through to U15 and places filling quickly each year, coaches are strongly encouraged to register early via Tournify to avoid missing out on what is always a highly sought-after event.

Turning attention to the weekend’s football:

U11 Girls Silver: Tested but United
GSL | Away vs Marylebone U11 Girls | PotM: Emilia & Maya

Omonia Youth FC U11 Girls Silver

On a challenging morning against a very well-drilled and experienced opposition, the Under-11 Silver girls were tested from the first whistle. The tempo was high throughout and the girls were required to defend for long periods, but their resilience and togetherness were clear to see. They worked tirelessly across the pitch, supporting one another and continuing to compete right to the end despite sustained pressure. There were moments of bravery on the ball, strong goalkeeping, and a real determination not to shy away from the challenge. Emilia and Maya were rightly recognised by the coaches for their excellent defensive work, while Evie was named Player of the Month for January following a series of strong recent performances.

U15 White: Spring Plate Statement
WFL Spring Plate | Home vs Hinton Revolution Heroes | 4–0 | PotM: George | Coaches: George A., Mark H.

A professional and assured performance from the Whites in their opening Spring Plate fixture. Building on recent training work, Omonia looked increasingly dangerous from wide areas, with crosses into the box causing constant problems. River opened the scoring with a well-drilled finish from a set-piece delivery by Chris, before George doubled the lead with a composed strike after creating space for himself in the area. At the back, Ryan, Denis and Alex P provided a solid platform, ensuring a 2–0 advantage at the break.
The second half saw Omonia adjust shape to control the game further. The Whites dominated possession and tempo, adding two more goals through sustained pressing and intelligent movement. George completed his hat-trick, earning a deserved Player of the Match award, while notable contributions came from Atila on the left, Theo in midfield, and Edmund leading as captain. A strong all-round display highlighting the team’s adaptability and growing cohesion.

U16 Girls White: Grit on Display
GSL | vs Youngs U16 | 0–0

Omonia Youth FC U16 Girls White

An extraordinary performance from the girls, who were forced to play the majority of the match with fewer players after an early injury. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the team were compact, disciplined and relentlessly committed to the task. They defended as a unit, showed composure on the ball, and made intelligent decisions under pressure. There were passages of excellent football mixed with moments of pure determination, as the girls refused to allow an unbeaten opposition to impose themselves. Mia was outstanding in front of the defence, controlling the tempo and offering stability throughout, though the collective effort from every player made this a performance to be proud of across the board.

U16 Pan-Disability: Growing Confidence
Middlesex FA U16 League

Omonia Youth FC U16 Pan-Disability

A demanding afternoon featuring three fixtures, but one that showcased the group’s continued progress. The boys rotated positions throughout, including in goal, and produced their most complete performance to date. First touch, work rate and understanding all showed clear improvement, with Matthew driving forward confidently and contributing goals. Joseph and Jaydon were excellent all-round, Barbod impressed with his commitment and goalkeeping, and Zac integrated seamlessly with the group. A day full of effort, smiles and development, reflecting the strength of the Pan-Disability programme.

U15 Gold: Belief Gained
WFL | vs Maccabi | Goals: Noah, Dino | PotM: Loui & Noah

The Golds faced a tough test against league leaders in their opening Spring Cup fixture. A nervous start saw the boys fall behind early, struggling to win second balls and impose themselves. However, as the first half progressed, confidence began to grow and Omonia started to play with greater belief. The second half told a different story, with sustained pressure, improved passing and increased attacking intent. Two well-taken goals set up a frantic finish, and with more time the boys may well have completed the comeback. Despite the result, this was a positive day that reinforced just how capable the group is when they trust their quality.

It was another weekend that underlined the depth, resilience and togetherness running throughout Omonia Youth FC. With teams continuing to learn and grow week by week, league football remains the clear priority—but the summer tournament now looms as an exciting opportunity on the horizon. With limited spaces and growing demand, early registration is strongly advised, ensuring Omonia’s community is well represented at one of the club’s flagship events of the year.

With league football continuing across North London, Omonia Youth FC teams were back in action this weekend, producing a range of performances that reflected commitment, resilience, and ongoing development across the club.

Alongside the on-pitch action, early preparations are already underway for one of the club’s flagship events — the Omonia Youth FC 2026 Tournament. While the tournament itself has been running for many years, it entered a new chapter four years ago when it successfully transitioned into a mixed-gender competition, following the success of a girls-only tournament the year before. Today, it stands as one of very few mixed tournaments in and around London, welcoming both boys’ and girls’ teams across U7 to U15 age groups.

Set to take place on 6 & 7 June at the Radiomarathon Centre, the tournament continues to attract strong interest from clubs across the region. With places filling quickly each year, teams are encouraged to register early via the Tournify platform, using the link provided on the tournament flyers (tournifyapp.com/live/omonia2026), to secure their place in what has become a highly regarded and competitive event on the youth football calendar.

Below is a round-up of the weekend’s matches involving Omonia Youth FC teams.

The Greens were in fine form on a muddy lunchtime as they took on a strong Enfield Rangers U10 Black side in a lively and competitive fixture. The heavy pitch demanded energy and resilience, and the Greens responded superbly, matching their opponents’ intensity while showing real determination and togetherness from the first whistle.Despite the challenging conditions, the Greens played with confidence and purpose, moving the ball well and pressing intelligently across the pitch. Enfield Rangers proved to be a very good side and pushed hard throughout, but Omonia’s spirit, organisation, and teamwork shone through in a thoroughly engaging and well-contested match.

Honestly. What a great performance today by the girls. They showed grit, fight and nothing short of relentless persistence, refusing to let their heads drop throughout the match. Falling behind to a single goal just before half-time was harsh on a side that worked tirelessly across the pitch.

The main challenge came in creating clear chances in the final third, but there were positive signs in the second half that showed real progress. Individually, every player gave a strong account of themselves. A special welcome back to Elysia, who delivered an excellent performance and earned a well-deserved Players’ Player of the Match vote.

The Golds put in a spirited performance at home against Titans U13 White. Despite going in 0–2 down at half-time, the boys showed energy and commitment throughout. David was outstanding early on, making several excellent saves, while Scott produced a brilliant goal-line clearance to keep Omonia in the contest.

In the second half, Johnny continued the solid goalkeeping display. Omonia kept pushing forward, with positive contributions from Andreas, Eren, Logan, Christian and Jack. Joe led by example all over the pitch, covering every blade of grass and earning Player of the Match. A tough result, but one that didn’t fully reflect the effort and teamwork on display.

The opening goal was a perfect reflection of the team’s development, with excellent link-up play between Bri, Sheks and Sophie before a composed finish. Amelia delivered a phenomenal performance, excelling defensively before coming on to assist and score in attack. A brilliant display of teamwork, trust, and player development.

A hard-fought derby produced an exciting and evenly contested encounter. The Whites started strongly, applying pressure and moving the ball well through midfield, with Mikey finishing confidently to open the scoring before adding a second soon after.

The Greens responded well after the break, shifting momentum and drawing level through sustained pressure and determination.
After last week’s victory over the same opposition, Omonia knew focus and discipline would be key. Wingate started strongly, but Omonia weathered the early pressure before growing into the game. Ren and Robert controlled midfield areas, allowing Omonia to play forward with purpose.

Tye opened the scoring before half-time and went on to complete back-to-back hat-tricks with two further excellent finishes. Sol and Alex added composed goals, while the defensive unit worked tirelessly to maintain control. A commanding and mature performance, capped by a stunning late save from James that earned applause from all sides.

Prior to kick-off, Omonia teams observed a minute’s silence in memory of Amos Curtis, a valued and much-loved figure within the wider Omonia TFA setup. The gesture was carried out with respect and unity across age groups, setting a tone that reflected the club’s values both on and off the pitch.

The Under 11 Silver girls faced a tough challenge in difficult, dreary conditions against a highly experienced and well-organised opposition. From the opening whistle, the match demanded resilience, focus, and determination. While the opposition showed their quality with strong, clinical finishing, the girls continued to compete throughout and never stopped working for one another.
There were encouraging passages of play, improved teamwork, and plenty of effort on display across the pitch. Managers’ Player of the Match was Sofia, whose tireless running set the standard, while special credit goes to Emilia for stepping in to cover the injured Aayla in goal during the closing stages.

In challenging conditions, Omonia started slowly, with limited communication allowing the opposition some early openings. However, the boys showed persistence and gradually settled into the game, keeping the contest finely balanced at half-time.
The second half saw increased attacking intent, led by Manu’s direct running and forward drive. Late in the match, some defensive shape was lost, but there were positives throughout, including tireless work from strikers Michael and Leonidas. Manu’s influence earned him Player of the Match.

Following an impeccably observed minute’s silence for Amos Curtis, the boys began with real intensity. Despite the heavy pitch making their usual passing style difficult, confidence grew quickly after Tye dispatched a superb free kick into the top corner.
Relentless midfield pressing, solid defending, and clinical finishing saw Omonia surge ahead, with Tye completing a first-half hat-trick and later adding more to his tally. The second half focused on maintaining a clean sheet, with Xander scoring his first of the season.
This was a landmark performance that reflected the hard work, unity, and resilience the group has shown throughout the season.

Before kick-off, the team observed a minute’s silence to remember Amos, known fondly by some as “Unc’s”.
From first to last whistle, the boys pressed relentlessly. While passing play improved significantly after half-time, the standout feature was the exceptional work rate across the pitch, limiting the opposition’s opportunities. A highly positive and disciplined team performance.

Despite the final score, the boys continued to press, support each other, and show resilience. Player of the Match was awarded to Joe by captain Reon after a strong all-round display.

A high-intensity home performance saw the Whites deliver their strongest first half of the season. New positional setups paid dividends, with effective passing, pace, and composure creating a deserved halftime lead.
Despite conceding against the run of play, the team maintained control and finished strongly. Edmund’s energy and creativity from midfield earned him Player of the Match in a deserved victory.

A performance that drew nothing but pride from coaches and parents alike. With no substitutes available and several players recovering from illness, the demands of a full 90 minutes posed a real challenge—but the girls responded superbly.

They came together as a unit, battled for one another, and showed outstanding determination throughout. Communication was excellent, defensive organisation was strong, and transitions were handled with real energy and intelligence. Ellie’s goal was a deserved reward for the team’s persistence, and the draw could easily have been more.

With only 11 players available, every single girl gave an incredible shift. Player of the Match was simply impossible to single out—this was a true team performance built on resilience, commitment, and togetherness.

Across the club, there was a clear sense of renewed energy and optimism, with teams showing strong commitment, togetherness, and encouraging signs as attention now turns firmly to the remainder of the season ahead.

Both teams returned to action after the Christmas and New Year break with clear intent, producing an evenly balanced and highly competitive Under 11s girls’ fixture that showcased effort, and entertainment throughout.
From the opening stages, the game swung from end to end, with both sides enjoying spells of possession and creating promising opportunities. Defensive organisation and determined pressing ensured that chances were limited, while goalkeepers and back lines on both teams dealt well with sustained periods of pressure.
As the match developed, the intensity remained high. Midfield battles were fiercely contested, and neither team was prepared to give an inch, resulting in a contest that remained finely poised for its entirety. Passing combinations, intelligent movement and strong teamwork were evident across the pitch, reflecting the quality and preparation of both squads.
The closing stages maintained the same level of competitiveness, with energy levels still high despite the long break from competitive football.
Overall, this was a very positive performance to begin the new phase of the season. The girls can take confidence from the way they approached the game, the standards they set, and the commitment shown throughout. Coach manager of the game was Lilly, who played a marvellous through ball for the second goal.

Omonia Girls delivered another outstanding performance, showing fantastic commitment and true team spirit against one of the strongest sides in the league. From start to finish, they played with confidence, intensity, and unity, supporting each other in every challenge. Their teamwork and determination stood out, proving once again that they can compete with the very best. An excellent display and a performance full of heart.

On a wet and grey morning at Radiomarathon Pitches, Omonia U13s Gold put in a great team performance against Sporting, just missing out in a close 1–0 game. The boys started brightly and showed plenty of energy from the first whistle. Teddy made a brilliant early save, but Sporting managed to score from a corner. Omonia didn’t let their heads drop and kept working hard right across the pitch to go into half-time only one goal behind.
In the second half, Omonia really grew into the game. Johnny came on in goal and made a fantastic save to keep the score close. There was some lovely link-up play from the team, with shots from Reon, Christian and Jack, and Jack was unlucky when the keeper pulled off a great save. Alfie went close from a corner, hitting the post, and the boys were unlucky not to score when a late penalty was saved. The effort, teamwork and spirit shown by everyone was excellent. A strong performance and a very positive start to the year.

U9 Green
Away vs APB Wingate U9 Raptors | WFL | PotM: Christopher | Coaches: Andy, Paul, Chris

In their first match after the break, Omonia began with good energy and organisation. Chris and Christopher linked play well, switching the ball and creating early chances, but the boys couldn’t make their opportunities count, leaving the game evenly balanced at half-time.
The second half saw energy levels drop and the team lose some shape. There were still positives to take, with Leonidas and James both performing solidly in goal. Christopher’s creativity and work rate stood out, earning him Player of the Match.

U15 White
Home vs Bloomsbury U15 Purple | WFL | Score: 1-3 | PotM: James | Coaches: George A., Mark H.

Omonia put in a good performance against a team second in the league.
Unfortunately the team started sluggishly but found their rhythm as the game went on. A couple of mistakes led to the goals but they kept battling until half time 0-2.
In the second half Omonia started more lively, Adam moving to the right side, Theo into midfield and River into defence to cover for a couple injuries. Another mistake at the back against the run of play was costly. Ryan managed to grab a goal with a half volley giving the team hope.
Omonia went on to create many good chances and managed to hit the cross bar twice via shots by Chris which would have led to a real turnaround. Despite their efforts, they can hold their heads high because they showed they are able to adapt to the game and there are plenty of ideas for the next game.
PotM was James who contained the left side against a strong forward.

U15 Silver
Home vs HMH U15 Eagles | 3-3 Draw | PotM: Sol | Coaches: Yianni, Marino, Abz

An impressive performance from Omonia Silvers who were playing against the league leaders.
Despite conceding early, the boys showed tremendous character and belief, responding with goals and sustained pressure. The second half saw Omonia dominate large spells, pushing relentlessly and earning a deserved draw.
Debutants impressed in defence, the midfield controlled the game in the second half, and the boys never gave up despite being behind twice. Sol was outstanding throughout, scoring twice and setting the tone for the team.

It was a weekend that offered plenty of encouragement across the club, with strong performances, valuable lessons, and clear signs of progress as teams continue to settle back into competitive football after the break. The effort, togetherness, and commitment shown across age groups reflected the hard work being done on the training ground and the supportive environment fostered within the club. As the season moves into its next phase, there is real optimism around what lies ahead, with players, coaches, and families all playing their part in driving Omonia Youth FC forward together.
